Mr. Edward M. Gee, Jr., the eldest of six children of Edward and Myrtha Gee, was born August 24, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas where he attended elementary schools. His family later moved to Kansas City, Missouri and he finished his education with a diploma from Lincoln High School.
Mr. Gee also attended R. T. Coles high school where he learned trades in electricity, metal shop and woodwork. He enrolled four years in mechanical drafting and architecture classes at Lincoln High School and was a member of that school’s drafting club and art club. Mr. Gee was also a member of the Lincoln High School newspaper as a staff artist, writing and illustrator. He also was enrolled in ROTC.
In 1960 after finishing high school, Mr. Gee joined the USAF. He took basic training at Lackland Air Force Base and attended technical school in Amarillo, Texas. He was classified as an Inventory Management Specialist, data processor and later a nuclear ordinance specialist. In Texas he was trained in fighter aircraft inventory using early systems of data computers. Serving special duty in Texas and Michigan, Gee received an honorable discharge in 1964. After relief from active duty, Mr. Gee found employment in many areas of skilled trades.
Hobbies and skills
Mr. Gee is skilled in fine arts: painting, pencil drawing, auto restoration, custom car building, drag racing, computer technology and genealogy.
UNIA & ACL Biography
Mr. Gee was employed at the Museum of African American History the years of 1968-1973 and assigned to report on the UNIA & ACL reunification convention being held in Youngstown, Ohio in August 1971.
Mr. Gee joined the UNIA Division 407 (Local President was John Vincent) in September, 1971 after attending the convention as an observer.

Mr. Gee has worked with and had been an understudy of many Honorable UNIA members since 1971. He has been a student of the Most Honorable Marcus Garvey, Jr., Honorable Charles Zampty, Maggie Campbell, Charles Vincent, Bishop J.C. Tucker, Hon. Charles L. James, Arthur Thomas, Leroy Jackson, Queen Mother Ash, Honorable Elder J. Gordon and others. Mr. Gee has been a participant in many cultural activities for the UNIA and has lectured at colleges and schools.
Mr. Gee has, with the assistance of Division 407 members and the local community, participated in many cultural activities.
On December 30, 2007, Mr. Nwalimu Edward Gee, Jr. became
the 9th President General of the UNIA & ACL.
